A Lessoned Learned Young

YOUTH BIBLE STUDY COURSEWhen I think about my life I am brought back to happy childhood memories. I remember starting kindergarten as a little girl. It was so much fun packing my backpack and walking to school with my mom and sister every day. I only had half a day of school so my mom would pick me up and we would go to the store or the park.

She would read to me and my sister bible lessons for youth every day. My sister is almost 2 years younger than me and we had lots of fun playing together. I remember playing house and dolls. We would go play outside and ride our little bikes.

I specifically remember a time when I was about 5 years old and I realized that if you don’t listen to your mom bad things will happen. She told me do not leave the gate. I played with the idea of disobeying her and leaving the gate. I inched closer and closer to the gate. When I got close enough to open the gate, I slowly opened the gate, and I peeked my head out. Boom, I got hit by a kid riding a bike. I quickly pulled my head back in while I cried hysterically. I knew at that moment, that if I did not obey my mom I would pay the price. She still comforted me although I deserved every bit of the consequence.

That night when she read our youth bible study lessons to us, she read about obedience. She reminded us of the importance of our decisions and that we have to make good choices all the time. I wish I would have learned my lesson then. Even though you know the truth about something, it does not mean you always do what is right.
