Can an Air Dome Provide Weatherproof Protection?

Used airdomes offer by Poly-SlovakiaIn a nutshell, the answer is “no”, an air dome cannot provide weatherproof protection. In fact, it’s the type of object that can literally self-destruct in five seconds without having been designed or configured to do so. A lot of things can go wrong with air domes because they are not actually products designed by structural engineers. Basically, these are objects that are made large enough and inflated enough to provide temporary shelter for you or your items. But the moment a storm starts brewing in the area, then that spells the beginning of the end for your air dome.

Unlike fabric structures, which are capable of withstanding even winds as strong as 80 KPH, air domes can only survive against mild winds. Anything stronger and it will either deflate or be blown away. Air domes are also incapable of bearing the weight of falling snow unlike fabric structures. If there is no one assigned to shed off snow from its top, then it will likely collapse in a matter of minutes or a few hours at the most.
