How to Invest in What You Know
Peter Lynch came up with this concept of investing in what you know. The guys at Motley Fool advocate for this too in their own unique way. You can do this too very easily. It’s a very logical progression from your daily life to the stock you invest in. Here are some of the stock market basics 101 of investing in what you know.
Start with what you buy and are passionate about every day. Maybe there is a particular store that you love. Maybe there is a brand out there that is extremely popular and there is a ground swell.
You can also access your background as well. Maybe you are a biotech scientist with a lot of knowledge of what is happening in the industry. You probably have a unique perspective on this sector and where certain companies will go.
You might be a software engineer and have an intimate knowledge of the technology industry. You should leverage these skill sets and background knowledge to invest in stocks that you know.
